This Privacy Policy explains how LegacyGuard Financial ("we", "us", "our"), which provides life insurance services through advisors licensed in Ontario and Nova Scotia, collects, uses, discloses and protects personal information through this website and the services offered on it. We handle personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy laws.
1. Information we collect
Information you give us. When you complete our form, we collect your province of residence, gender, date of birth, Canadian residency status, smoking status, first and last name, email address and phone number. If you call us or book an appointment, we also collect the information you share during that conversation or booking.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the website, we and our service providers collect technical information such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, the date and time of your visit, the page that referred you, and advertising campaign identifiers (for example UTM parameters and click identifiers). We collect this through cookies, pixels and similar technologies described in section 6.
2. How we use your information
We use personal information to:
- contact you by phone, text message or email about the quote you requested;
- assess which life insurance products you may be eligible for and prepare quotes;
- submit applications to insurers on your behalf when you choose to apply;
- schedule and confirm appointments you book with us;
- keep a record of the consent you gave and of our communications with you;
- measure and improve our website and advertising, and prevent fraud and misuse;
- meet our legal, regulatory and professional obligations as licensed advisors.
3. Consent
By submitting the form, you give express consent for us to collect, use and disclose your personal information as described in this policy, and to contact you by phone (including calls placed or assisted by automated or virtual assistant technology), text message and email about your quote. You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal or contractual restrictions, by contacting us using the details in section 11. Withdrawing consent may limit our ability to provide you with a quote or service.
4. How we share your information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed for the purposes above, with:
- Insurers and managing general agencies we work with, to obtain quotes and to process applications you choose to submit;
- Service providers who help us operate, such as website hosting, customer relationship management, scheduling, telephone and messaging, email and analytics providers. They may use your information only to perform services for us;
- Advertising platforms such as Meta and Google, which receive technical and event information (for example, that a form was submitted) to measure and improve our advertising. We do not send them your health or lifestyle answers;
- Regulators, law enforcement or other parties when required or permitted by law.
5. Storage outside Canada
Some of our service providers store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States. While it is outside Canada, your information is subject to the laws of that country and may be accessible to its courts, law enforcement and national security authorities. We require our service providers to protect personal information in a manner consistent with this policy.
6. Cookies, pixels and similar technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies, including the Meta Pixel and Google Analytics, to remember your progress through the form, understand how visitors use the website, and measure the performance of our ads. You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings, and you can manage ad preferences in your Meta and Google account settings. Blocking cookies may affect how the website works.
7. Retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes it was collected for, including to meet our legal, regulatory, insurer and professional record-keeping requirements. When it is no longer needed, we securely delete or anonymize it.
8. Safeguards
We protect personal information with physical, organizational and technical safeguards appropriate to its sensitivity, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access limited to people who need it, and service providers bound by confidentiality obligations. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify you and the Privacy Commissioner of Canada of breaches where required by law.
9. Your rights
You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, to ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate or incomplete, and to withdraw your consent. To make a request, contact us using the details in section 11. We will respond within 30 days, or tell you if we need more time as permitted by law. We may need to verify your identity before responding.
10. Marketing communications
Every commercial email or text message we send identifies us and includes a way to unsubscribe. You can opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe link, replying STOP to a text message, asking us during a call, or contacting us directly. We will process your request within 10 business days.

This website and our services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.
